Free Slurpee Day: 7-Eleven’s 86th Birthday Treat

Today is free Slurpee day at 7-eleven. So if you woke up today craving hard for a cup of your favorite Slurpee flavor and didn’t want to pay for it, today’s your lucky day.

Having coined the phrase “7-eleven day,” the retail chain offers their customers one free Slurpee until the end of the day, or they run out of Slurpees.

As well as being a nice gesture to the public, promoting a great image for the company, it is also a money spinner. 7-Eleven have reported a large increase in sales across their stores on July 11th, or “Free Slurpee day” as it is known.

Before you go to work today, making the obvious diversion to your nearest “free Slurpee outlet.”

The free drink this year will be provided in a 12 ounce cup with a lid, making them more convenient for parents with small children.

The cup size might not be as big as you want it. This may leave you needing more so its best to make sure you have some cash in hand, just in case.

You should also be aware that the free Slurpees will only be given out from, you guessed it, 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. so make sure you get there in time.

7-eleven intends to dish out over seven million free Slurpees this year. They distributed 4.5 million Slurpees on the same day in 2011.
