‘Watch Dogs’ Will Have A More Dynamic World On Xbox One

Watch Dogs will have a more dynamic world on Xbox One than on the Xbox 360.

In a way, it only makes sense. The Xbox One is built to be more powerful than the Xbox 360, so there is more room to improve on the game’s AI and physics. Of course, technically if would take a bit longer than planned to make completely realistic AI, with individual moods and everything, but Ubisoft is taking it further than they could on the current generation console.

There are so many ways that AI can be improved over the current generation in open-world games. Gamers could do something despicable that makes the citizens of the city remark about their disgust, and then hours later they would stare at you like they remember what you did. More proactive ones might immediately grab their phones and call the police as soon as they recognize you, forcing you to stay as unseen as possible or hack their phone to redirect the number. Imagine the hilarity of watching a citizen dial 911 and end up calling a pizza joint.

Dominic Guay, lead producer of Watch Dogs, has already mentioned that the water in the game will be much more realistic in appearance and physics on Xbox One. The waves a boat creates will affect the way other nearby boats steer, for example. You might even see a warped view of the river bank from the boat, rippling as the water does, or a random fish swimming about in calmer waters and fleeing if you disturb it.

There will be more people in the Xbox One version of Watch Dogs as well, giving it that big city feel, like you’re actually in the real Chicago. As stated above, if the human AI is also improved, you may have to watch your step a lot more closely as well.

In general, the world of Watch Dogs will take full advantage of the new power available with the Xbox One. Coming from the developers of Assassin’s Creed, we don’t find that surprising.

What do you think of Watch Dogs having a more dynamic world on Xbox One? Would this be enough to make you hold out for the next generation console version?
