Jon Gosselin Retreats To Forest Life To Escape Paparazzi

Jon Gosselin has had enough of paparazzi searching him out, so the former reality television star is pulling a move straight out of Henry David Thoreau’s playbook and taking to the forest.

Gosselin said he’s abandoned his large house in Pennsylvania and tabloid attention in favor of a quiet life “in the woods,” noting that he doesn’t even have an address anymore. Speaking to VH1’s The Gossip Table, Jon Gosselin said his retreat has kept photographers from finding him so far.

Jon was once one of the most famous husbands in America. He and then-wife Kate were the stars of Jon and Kate Plus 8, a reality show that portrayed their life raising twins and sextuplets.

They appeared on the show for five seasons before divorcing. The show continued as Kate Plus 8, despite Jon Gosselin suing to stop the show and keep his children out of the spotlight.

Since then Jon has become something of an unlikely advocate for reality show families. When asked if Kim Kardashian and Kanye West should allow their daughter North West to appear on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, he advised against it.

“I wanted to raise my kids off television, so I changed my mind,” he said. “So I would definitely not film with my newborn child.”

But Jon did say he would entertain a return to television if he could appear on Dancing With the Stars. Jon said he thinks he could advance further than his ex-wife Kate, who appeared on the show in 2010.

Despite retreating to the forest, Jon Gosselin is still taking some heat. Earlier this month clothier Ed Hardy blamed Jon’s endorsement for tanking his brand.

Hardy recently told the New York Post:

“That Jon Gosselin thing was the nail in the coffin. That’s what tanked it. Macy’s used to have a huge window display with Ed Hardy, and it filtered down and that’s why Macy’s dropped the brand.”

Jon Gosselin said he doesn’t bother with Ed Hardy anymore, donating all the Hardy brand clothes he once had to his mother.
