Rick Santorum Moving From Politics To Faith-Based Film Industry

Former presidential hopeful Rick Santorum might be done with politics for good. He will now work on “faith-based” films with Echolight Studios.

The 55-year-old politician is now the new CEO of Echolight, which makes movies with Christian messages. Santorum announced his new career move on Mike Huckabee’s Fox News program over the weekend.

“This is the right place and right time, and I’ve jumped in with both feet,” Santorum said of the new job opportunity.

“I often say that culture is upstream from politics, and I know entertainment also can be strength and light for people who want to be uplifted and reinforced in their values.”

Echolight Studios has released a number of films that focus on themes of the Christian faith and traditional family values. They have a new movie, The Redemption of Henry Myers, set for a theatrical release this fall.

“Many of you have heard me talk about that if we are going to make a positive impact on our country’s cultural challenges, we have to do it by reaching the masses often through entertainment,” Santorum said in an official release of his role in the company.

“For too long, Hollywood has had a lock on influencing the youth of this country with a flawed message that goes against our values. Now, we can change that.”

What do you think of Rick Santorum’s new job producing faith-based films with Echolight Studios? Is that a better fit for the conservative pol that politics? Sound off!
