Demi Lovato Announces ‘Made In The USA’ As Latest Single

Demi Lovato has weathered some recent sad news with the passing of her biological father, but the singer is trying to pick up the pieces. What does that look like for the X Factor judge? It looks a bit patriotic as Lovato confirms that “Made in the USA” will be her next single off of her album Demi.

“Made in the USA” is her second single, following up her very successful “Heart Attack” single, and it’s from one half of production team The Suspex, specifically Jason Evigan. “Made in the USA” is said to hit the airwaves on Thursday.

With the announcement of the single comes a music video too. Although a music video in support of “Made in the USA” is a no-brainer, Lovato is said to be co-directing the music video, which isn’t a conventional route for a pop star. So far we don’t have a specific date for the release of the music video, but MTV has reported that it will be expected to hit television screens sometime in July.

“Made in the USA” isn’t without its surprises. In the video, it is rumored that Lovato will be joined by a few “special surprise actors.” In May, Lovato spoke with MTV and said of her role directing the video, calling it a “dream come true.” Lovato continued:

“I always wanted to do it when I was younger, then I jut had the opportunity this time and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I have to take advantage of this.”

While this might be an amazing experience for Lovato, the loss of her father isn’t lost on anyone. After news got out that her biological father had passed over the weekend, Lovato, who’s estranged from her father took to Twitter on Sunday to thank the outpouring of support from her friends, fans, and other Tweeters.

Demi is proving to have a very busy summer. As of right now the X Factor auditions are underway, and on Thursday Lovato is slated to appear on Good Morning America, and will also perform at VH1’s Philly 4th of July Jam, along with other famous musicians which includes John Mayer and The Roots.
