‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Actor Jeff Garlin Charged With Vandalism

Curb Your Enthusiasm star Jeff Garlin has reportedly been charged with felony vandalism over a dispute about a parking space in Los Angeles.

Garlin, the co-star and executive producer of the Larry David HBO hilarious comedy, plays David’s manager and confidant Jeff Greene on the series. The Greene character is David’s loyal friend who typically gets mixed up all of David’s misadventures, regardless of how embarrassing, but which sometimes gets him in hot water with his explosive wife Susie (Susie Essman). In a past interview, Garlin described his character as “a pretty evil guy” with “no morals, no scruples.”

The allegations involving his vandalism arrest sounds like it could be an episode of Curb, and evidently it happened near a curb as it turns out.

Apparently he was taken into custody Saturday afternoon in Studio City, Calif., when cops were summoned about what sounds like parking rage. ” … Garlin got into a verbal fight with another person over a parking space… which escalated quickly … and resulted in Garlin allegedly smashing the windows of the other person’s Mercedes.”

Bail for Garlin was set at $20,000, and he was released this morning. He is the star of the new ABC sitcom The Goldbergs, about a family in the 1980s, that is scheduled to debut sometime in the upcoming 2013-2014 television season. Garlin, 51, has also had roles on Arrested Development and other shows as well as doing stand-up comedy.

Curb Your Enthusiasm, which premiered in 2000, has been on HBO for eight seasons, and the network is optimistic that David will return for a ninth although the Seinfeld co-creator has yet to make a formal commitment to produce new episodes.

Are you surprised that Jeff Garlin allegedly was unable to curb his anger in the real world?
