‘How I Met Your Mother’ Gets Comic-Con Panel For Final Season

How I Met Your Mother is getting its own panel at Comic-Con this year before its ninth and final season.

Despite the show’s unrivaled popularity, How I Met Your Mother is only just now making its debut at Comic-Con after eight years. The final season will premiere this fall, and the HIMYM panel will reportedly be an opportunity for the show’s cast and crew to thank fans for their support and say goodbye properly.

The How I Met Your Mother panel was announced on Wednesday by 20th Century Fox, which produces the show.

In a statement, they said that the panel will include Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan, as well as executive producers Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Pamela Fryman.

At the conclusion of Season 8, the show finally revealed the long-awaited identity of the titular mother. Cristin Milioti will play Ted’s wife and mother of his children when the show comes back, and it is rumored that the season will play out in real time.

Bays hasn’t confirmed or denied this, but he did say that Season 9 will “tell the epic story of the longest wedding weekend ever.”

Comic-Con takes place July 18-21 in San Diego. Other 20th Century Fox panels include: Sons of Anarchy, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Futurama, Sleepy Hollow, and Bones.
