The band Mumford Sons have cancelled their show in Dallas tonight as their bassist Ted Dwane recovers in the hospital from a blood clot.

The band announced on their site that Dwane was taken to the hospital after feeling ill for several days. A scan revealed that he had a blood clot on the surface of the his brain.

The band said that Dwane was receiving excellent care at the hospital and is expected to recover quickly from surgery .

Mumford Sons writes : “Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment … The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery.”

Mumford Sons are scheduled to play two more shows this week in Texas and New Orleans. Those concerts have been postponed for the moment and will be rescheduled “as quickly as we can.”

The band is scheduled to play at Bonnaroo in Tennessee this weekend. As of now, that show is still on.
