Blake Shelton On Upcoming Summer Tour: ‘It’s Everything I Ever Worked For’

Blake Shelton has recently taken a step back from the limelight as he put together and headlined an Oklahoma Benefit Concert, but he’s now ready for his first-ever summer tour. The 36-year-old is more than excited about hitting the road this summer, which all begins on June 19 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The Voice mentor has recently become one of the most popular country music stars next to his wife Miranda Lambert, but he’s been waiting for this tour for quite some time. The hard work has finally paid off, and Shelton will take it all in as he ventures into a lifelong dream with the “Ten Times Crazier” Tour later this month.

Shelton’s been the center of attention of late, especially after he went on a Twitter rant about music critic Joey Guerra after the ousting of his mentee, Holly Tucker, on The Voice.

The country star wasn’t afraid to speak his opinion about the critic, but his attention has now turned to his summer tour. Blake Shelton spoke with MTV News about the upcoming experience, and if one thing’s for sure, he’s going to enjoy every minute of it.

“I’m going out on my first-ever headlining amphitheater tour, and I’m never going to forget it,” Shelton told MTV News.

“It’s everything I ever worked for, from the first time I tried to play a chord on the guitar, this was the dream I had, this was the image that was in my mind, of stepping out on one of those big summertime amphitheater stages, and looking out and seeing a bunch of people ready to have a good time,” he added.

Ticket sales from the tour will also help raise funds for one of Shelton’s favorite charities, Healing In The Heartland, which is a non-profit organization that is helping victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes.
