Nashville, TN — Orlando Shaw, 33, has been busy. With Father’s Day right around the corner appropriately enough, Shaw has reportedly fathered 22 children with 14 different women now ranging from infant twins to an 18-year-old.
Unfortunately he is unemployed and not up to date with child support, so the state of Tennessee, i.e., the taxpayer, is on the hook for about $7,500 a month to support them.
In an interview outside the courthouse, Shaw offered a slightly different calculation, saying that he has “roughly” 18 kids with 17 women. Nonetheless, he declared that he loves all his kids, originally wanted 50 of them as his legacy, and said he doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. He evidently now plans on getting a vasectomy. Shaw also insisted that he has a relationship with “every last one” of the baby mamas, but some better than others.
The dad apparently has been in out and out court for child support hearings but also claimed he had a 100% record of attendance for these proceedings.
Because he has a criminal record, he explained that he can’t a job and therefore is unable to come up with child support payments, which makes him a deadbeat dad. According to Magistrate Judge Scott Rosenberg of Davidson County Juvenile Court, “Shaw would have to take three or four full-time jobs to even come close to paying the child support he owes.” Shaw did say that he “plays the hell out of the Tennessee Lottery” as part of his financial plan moving forward.
When the reporter asked him about using contraception, the prolific dad said, “I was young and ambitious and I loved women. Hey, you can’t knock no man for loving women.” He also said with obvious pride (and the results that prove it) that “the ladies don’t like me, they love me.”
