Miguel Facing Lawsuit For Billboard Awards Drop Kick

Miguel could be facing a lawsuit after accidentally landing on a female fan during a Billboard Music Awards performance gone wrong.

While performing his song “Adorn,” Miguel tried to jump from one stage to another. However, there was a fan area in between the two stages, and the singer’s poorly-timed jump resulted in him crash landing on the neck of a young lady named Khyati Shah.

Fortunately, Shah didn’t suffer any serious injuries, and Miguel addressed the accident on Twitter, writing, “thank goodness Khyati is okay.” Shah went backstage after the concert and she and Miguel were interviewed about the accident. He called her his “new friend” and regretted that they met under “not the best circumstances,” but said he would make it up to her.

However, it appears that Shah is changing her tune, as her attorney, Vip Bhola, has said that she is considering filing a lawsuit against the singer pending her most recent medical results. Bhola said Shah has been having “difficulties” since the accident.

“We will determine that after we have feedback from medical providers,” Bhola told E! News. He went on to say that he has not spoken with Miguel’s legal reps, but he did say there was the possibility of a settlement.

Miguel is also facing a bit of controversy after tweeting:

While some agreed with him, others were outraged. He went on to try and explain that “EVERYONE is judgmental” but that he personally believed blacks are “the most critical of our own.”

Miguel went on to say, “If anyone out there doesn’t like me for that, I can respect that but you can always know that I’ll be the artist and the man who will stand by his opinion.”

And just in case you missed the drop kick seen ’round the world…

Do you think Khyati Shah should sue Miguel? What do you think of his Twitter comments?
