‘Star Wars Episode 7’ Fake Trailer Goes Viral [Video]

Star Wars Episode 7 now has a fake trailer gone viral.

Just like Star Wars Episode 3, the upcoming film in the series has a fake trailer. Except this time, it isn’t a parody based on how stupid and unwatchable the previous film was. This fake trailer appears to be actually taking the film seriously.

The fake trailer for Star Wars Episode 7 doesn’t show much, but does feature a few glimpses of what may be the villain in the upcoming episode of the saga. Darth Malgus appears to be modeled after Darth Vader without the top half of his helmet, a wrinkled, evil-looking character with red pupils and a breathing apparatus.

This begs the question of why it seems a lot of the major villains in Star Wars seem to have breathing problems. It started with Darth Vader, who was understandably burned almost to death in a lava flow. Then we had General Grievous, who looked like a four-armed robot with severe athsma. We suppose there is a story behind that, but it sounds ridiculous to have a robot with a breathing problem. Now we have Darth Malgus, who may be the main villain in Star Wars Episode 7, sporting a breathing apparatus similar to that of Darth Vader.

We do know that the costume was not licensed by Lucasfilm or Disney.

The fake trailer promises the film will give us the character’s past and not just leave us wondering why he looks like that. Of course it’s a fake trailer, and until we see a real one from J.J. Abrams’ eagerly awaited continuation of the saga, it’s all we have to go on.

What we know for now is that J.J. Abrams, director of Lost and the latest Star Trek films, is helming this film. Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are all rumored to be in this new episode of the Star Wars saga. Also, the film is being shot in London due to tax discounts and whatnot.

What do you think of the fake trailer for Star Wars Episode 7?
