‘Curiosity’ Grants Player The Power Of God [Video]
Curiosity, a game made for mobile devices, has been beaten, and the player to beat it has been granted the power of “god.”
Curiosity for iOS and Android was more than just a game, apparently. According to a video from Peter Molyneux sent to Edinburgh resident Bryan Henderson, and shared from there, the first player to reach the center of the cube has been granted a chance to be in control of the developer’s next game. Not even the cube from Transformers had this much power in it.
The game was created as an experiment to see who would be persistent enough to tap their device enough times to reach the center of Curiosity‘s giant cube. Bryan Henderson was the first one to do just that. As a result, Peter Molyneux has given Bryan Henderson control and part of the revenue over his next game, Godus.
Now the fate of Godus and possibly his own financial future lies with this gamer. Having beaten Curiosity, he has complete control over how Godus will play, the rules involved … everything. If the game fails and makes absolutely no money, it’s his fault. If Godus becomes addictive to the point where it makes billions worldwide, again, Bryan Henderson is in control and gains a profit. It’s up to him whether Godus succeeds or becomes the most ambitious mobile game to fail in recent years.
The video from Peter Molyneux is basically him in a white room and black suit, clean-shaven all around, as he says:
“Welcome to the end of Curiosity. We started this experiment back in November of 2012, and we have been completely blown away by how the world has embraced this amazing experiment. And that’s exactly what it was; an experiment. Could we take the simplest possible conceivable thing, connecting people together and allowing them to tap on this massive cube … could we take that and pose this question of what’s in the center?”
