Chris Kelly: Overdose Suspected By Those Closest To HIm

Chris Kelly’s death is a suspected overdose according to his family and friends. The rapper who was part of the legendary 90s group Kriss Kross passed away suddenly earlier this week and now those closest too him are speculating that drug use played a large part in the death.

Authorities believe that drugs were the underlying cause as well thanks to a report from the mother of the rapper also known as “Mac Daddy.” She says she knew he was taking cocaine and heroin the night before his death.

Chris Kelly’s suspected overdose also comes in light of the fact that the family says that the rapper has a long history of abuse with recreational drugs. It seems that some family and friends felt it might have just been a matter of time before the performer succumbed to too much temptation.

Some reports have indicated that an attempted return to the spotlight by Kriss Kross might have been a catalyst when it came to taking more drugs than usual over the last few days and weeks.

The 34-year-old had been planning a comeback with his long ago partner, Chris Smith who was also known as the “Daddy Mac” of the duo. The pair were discovered in an Atlanta Mall by 90s rap superstar and producer Jermaine Dupri.

After the death of the performer, Dupri issued a statement in which he said, To the world Chris was Mac Daddy but to me, he was a son I never had.” The hip-hop mogul added that when he really thought about it, he spent more time with the pair than almost everyone else in the world adding “you can imagine how bad this hurts.”

At the height of their popularity, the duo were performing with music superstars like Michael Jackson but their star faded quickly and no one had really heard from the group in years prior to a reunion earlier this year.
