Cindy Crawford’s daughter is following in her mother’s footsteps. At 11, Kaia Gerber has already broken onto the modeling scene and is staring in her first musical.
Gerber, Crawford’s youngest child with restauranteur Rande Gerber, appears to have gained her supermodel mom’s good looks as well. The pair were spotted out on Sunday after Kaia finished her performance in 13 the Musical .
While Cindy was snapped in photos on Sunday looking casual in jeans an a sweater, the model’s daughter was snapped looking a little more glammed up. Kaia sported a black crop top, maroon maxi skirt, and classy makeup. It was easy to see the supermodel passed her good looks on down the line.
And considering she is the offspring of an incredibly successful model, it was not surprise to see Kaia looking a bit like a model in training. Cindy Crawford’s daughter’s budding show business career began last year when she starred in a Versace Children’s campaign . While Crawford revealed she wouldn’t mind if her daughter followed in her footsteps, she explained:
“At this point, she’s too young to pursue a career. There aren’t even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl. But if she’s 17 and wants to try it … of course, what can I say?”
In another interview last year, Cindy Crawford admitted she doesn’t really notice the resemblance between herself and her daughter. She added:
“Other people see more of me in her than I do, but I just see her. I always tease her that she stole everything from me. I’m like, ‘You have my old legs and I want them back!’ ”
Cindy Crawford’s daughter has also learned that her mom’s job was really a job. When she made her modeling debut in January 2012, Kaia Gerber realized the gig was a lot of work. Crawford recalled, “She liked it, but she also saw that it’s hard work. When we left the shoot, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to do that again.’ It was like, ‘That was kinda hard!’ ”
Only the future will tell what happens with Cindy Crawford’s daughter. But if she’s anything like her mom, Kaia Gerber will likely have a lengthy career in show business.
