‘Grand Theft Auto V’: Three Character Trailers Released [Video]

Grand Theft Auto V has landed three character trailers today.

Grand Theft Auto revolutionized the way we played videogames. Without it, sandbox titles probably wouldn’t be as commonplace as they are now. It gave us the freedom to go wherever we wanted and do anything, and try to get out of whatever trouble we started without getting ourselves killed in a police standoff. We also got some amazing soundtracks with the later games, so we could literally just sit in a car and listen to the in-game radio stations for hours and not do anything, just soaking in the tunes.

As the series progressed, the graphics improved and we even saw controversy that made the US government forget Mortal Kombat and shooting games for a few seconds.

We’ve been teased thus far with a screensaver promoting the ridiculous religious spoof on Scientology, known as Epsilonism. The fictional founder of this religion was a character from a previous Grand Theft Auto game, making the screensaver a clever way of advertising Grand Theft Auto V.

The trailers released today for Grand Theft Auto V reveal the characters Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. This time around, we are being given three protagonists to play through the game with, potentially tripling the replay value. All three trailers can be seen on GameInformer and YouTube.

The trailer for Michael begins with some 80s style music playing before someone starts in, “What do you want, Michael?”

We see people going about their lives on a street rife with palm trees, indicating it may take place in Vice City again.

Michael replies, “I don’t know. I want something that isn’t this.”

We see a red sports car pull up to a house with somewhat Italian or Cuban architecture.

We hear what may be Michael’s daughter yelling at him as he takes a swig of something in the kitchen. “Dad, Jimmy called me a b****!” Michael’s name overlays the screen as this happens.

The rest of the trailer is above. Grand Theft Auto V is slated for a September 17 release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

What do you think of the trailers for new characters in Grand Theft Auto V?
