Become The Queen’s Next Door Neighbor For A Mere $325m

Fancy becoming the Queen‘s next door neighbor? One of London’s most exclusive properties has gone up for sale and is positioned close to Buckingham Palace and St. James’s Park.

The Grade I listed Regency property, located on Carlton House Terrace, comes with a price tag of $325 million (£250?million).

If the price is met, that would be a UK record, not to mention 700 times more than the $560,000 (£370,000) average value of a London property. The front gates of Buckingham Palace are a brief 10-minute walk away.

Described as the largest private home in central London, the property comes with original features including a grand double staircase and huge ballroom.

The six-story home also boasts 50,000 square feet of living space, making it 30 times bigger than a typical London family house. The property has four storys above ground and two below.

According to The Evening Standard, the property appears in a “strictly confidential” brochure where it is described as “probably the finest residence in London.”

In fact, this house is so exclusive that the only interior pictures date from 1890 and are black and white; for security reasons, the current owner does not want many of the features photographed.

The current record for a house sale in London is $207 million (£136?million) and was paid for an apartment at One Hyde Park in hoity-toity Knightsbridge.

And don’t think coming in with a cheap offer will work: The seller, who has not been identified, is reportedly happy to wait for the right offer to appear.

One source who’s been given a tour of the house told the Standard the house is so large that “many of the rooms are completely empty and after so many rooms, one fades into the next.”
