Video Of Jamie Foxx As Electro Surfaces Online [Video]
Set footage of Jamie Foxx as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has surfaced online.
Images of the actor dressed as the villain in the upcoming sequel made their way onto various websites earlier this week. Just a few days after pouring over those set pictures, fans now have video of Foxx stumble through the streets as Electro to feast their eyes upon.
The footage shows Jamie Foxx in the middle of New York’s Times Square. The actor is decked out in full Electro makeup and a hoodie lined with LED lights. Although the character has appeared in several Spider-Man storylines, his appearance has changed a bit since his original appearance in 1964.
Instead of wearing a green suit and a yellow mask, the character is now bald, blue, and a bit tougher than he previously appeared in the comics. Foxx explained to the folks at BlackFilm.com last year that the filmmakers were aiming for something a little different for the sequel.
“They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside down and trying to figure out what happen [sic]. How did he become this way? So, it will be some new stuff,” the actor said.
Electro isn’t the only villain Spider-Man will have to contend with in the sequel. Acclaimed actor Paul Giamatti is rumored to be on-board as Rhino. Also joining the cast for the follow-up are Colm Feore, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, and Dane DeHaan.
Columbia Pictures describes the film as follows:
“In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2,’ for Peter Parker, life is busy — between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen, high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away — but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.”
