New Kool-Aid Man Will Do More Than Break Through Walls, Say ‘Oh Yeah’

There’s a new Kool-Aid Man in town.

Kraft Foods unveiled its new Kool-Aid man today saying that in addition to getting a new look the mascot will also be given a new personality.

According to CBS, the computer generated mascot will do much more than just break through walls and shout “oh yeah.” Instead, the new Kool-Aid man will be shown as a celebrity trying to fit in with normal people.

In one of the new commercials, the mascot says: “I put my pants on one leg at a time … Except my pants are 22 different flavors. I’ve got grape pants, I’ve got watermelon pants.”

Erica Rendall, senior brand manager at Kraft Foods Group Inc., said that the new campaign will help people fill in the blanks about the Kool-Aid mascot. Apparently, people around the world have been wondering what Kool-Aid man likes to do when he’s not breaking through walls.

Rendall said: “He said a few things here and there (in the past), but he really didn’t have a developed personality.”

What do you think of the new Kool-Aid man? Have you been dying to know the characters back story?

The Kool-Aid man has been around since 1954 and although this is a pretty big revamp of the character Kraft insists that he’ll still leave his signature hole every once in awhile. At the end of one commercial, the mascot leaves for work by running through his wall instead of his front door.
