JWoww will appear on One Life To Live as the reality show star tries her hand at the soap opera genre.
The Jersey Shore star, Jennifer “JWoww” Farley, is set to appear on the rebooted soap, which is available on Hulu, Hulu Plus, and iTunes. On One Life To Live, JWoww will play Nikki, a bartender at the nightclub Shelter.
JWoww will play a recurring role on the drama set in the fictional town of Llanview, The Online Network noted in a press release.
“JWOWW plays Nikki, a bartender hired at the trendy nightclub Shelter, who in true JWOWW fashion, can mix an Alabama Slammer as well as she can flirt with customers,” the network noted. “As Shelter’s newest barmaid, club owner Blair Cramer (Kassie DePaiva) knows that it’s best to keep an eye on Nikki so things don’t get out of control.”
JWoww appears to be getting used to the soap opera world on the set of One Life To Live. She got some acting tips from Josh Kelly, who plays con man Cutter Wenworth on the show. Kelly showed JWoww how to do the common soap opera pretend slap, even letting the Jersey Shore star practice on him.
The move represents a step beyond the Jersey Shore franchise that made JWoww famous, though she still appears in the spinoff Snooki & JWOWW.
The addition of JWoww likely isn’t as exciting for soap fans as the revival of the show itself. A casualty of the soap opera purge that’s taken place in the last few years as networks opt for cheaper and easier to produce daytime talk shows, One Life To Live found a second life on The Online Network.
The beloved franchise will now be served up in 30-minute episodes launched each weekday and available to stream online. JWoww can be seen on One Life To Live when it returns April 29.
