Kordell Stewart has filed for divorce from his reality star wife Porsha Williams.
According to TMZ , the former Pittsburgh Steeler filed for divorce last week at the Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia.
Stewart claims in his divorce papers that the two are currently separated and that the marriage is “irretrievably broken.”
Stewart hasn’t commented directly on his divorce from Williams but he did write this message on Twitter: “Live and let live. Enjoy life to the fullest and know GODS plan is bigger than anything someone can say or do. By the way..GODS my homie.”
Stewart also says that he shouldn’t be required to pay spousal support since Porsha is an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself.”
The exact reason for the divorce is not known but the Hollywood Gossip speculates that it may have to do with children. On Williams reality show, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she frequently discussed her desire to have kids with Stewart.
The couple do not have any children together but Stewart does have one son from a previous relationship.
Of course, the divorce may also have something to do with control issues. Williams’ co-stars were frequently critical of Stewart saying that he was too controlling. Williams recently addressed some of her relationship issues on Watch What Happens Live.

The divorce may come as a bit of a shock to Kordell and Williams’ Twitter followers. Porsha tweeted just last week that two people in love can overcome any obstacle.

Stewart also retweeted a message saying that he still loved Porsha.
