Just when you thought we had seen everything out of Iron Man 3 we were going to see before it comes out on May 3, a new surprise trailer drops at the 2013 Kids Choice Awards.
By our measure, Iron Man 3 has already released two trailers, an international trailer, a handful of TV spots, and a ton of images and character posters. That’s a pretty good haul for most movies, even big budget summer actioners. But Iron Man 3 threw us a curve ball during last night’s Kids Choice Awards with a brand new trailer that shows new footage and plenty of action.
“You know it’s moments like these, when I realize what a superhero I am,” says Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark as he leaps through the air with his newest Iron Man armor attaching itself to his body piece by piece.
Iron Man 3 is described by Disney as a film that “pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?”
The film sees Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle reprising their roles from Iron Man 2, and stars newcomers Guy Pearce (Aldrich Killian), Ben Kingsley (The Mandarin), and Rebecca Hall (Dr. Maya Hansen).
Iron Man 3 will be released internationally on April 25, 2013 in IMAX, and on May 3, 2013 in the United States.
