Mr. Feeny Is Back! William Daniels Confirmed For ‘Boy Meets World’ Spin Off

Mr. Feeny is back! When it was announced that Boys Meets World would be starting production on their Disney spin off Girl Meets World, fans were excited about the reunion of lead actors Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel.

With the reunion of the characters Cory and Topanga Matthews, the inevitable question remained if their grammar, junior high, high school teacher, and college advisor Mr. Feeny would teach the new generation of students. It looks like he just might. It’s been confirmed that William Daniels, the man behind the iconic Mr. Feeny, who appeared on all seven seasons of Boy Meets World will indeed reprise his role.

Girl Meets World will follow the lives of Cory and Topanga Matthews as they go through the tasks of raising their children Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and son Elliot (Teo Halm).

It’s been confirmed that the character of Mr. Feeny will appear in the pilot, but beyond that the extent of his role is not known. Knowing Daniels’ character Mr. Feeny, and how he pretty much stalked his students from grade to grade, it looks promising that Daniels will be on more than one episode.

In addition to Mr. Feeny, fans were hoping that character favorites like Cory’s friend Shawn, and his brother Eric would be back on the show after actors Rider Strong and Will Friedle attended the live studio audience taping. However, it was said that the actors were just visiting the set, but you never really know. Back in November when the project just got off the ground, Strong did seem to be open to at least the opportunity to return.

When the subject of returning cast members possibly having guest stints on the show first came up, creator of both series’ Michael Jacobs teased: “I think there’s more than a chance. I think there’s a strong chance.”

For now we can all rest easy that we will be seeing more of Mr. Feeny in our lives, no matter what the capacity is. Since Boy Meets World ended in 2000, Daniels has been incredibly busy. At the age of 86, William Daniels has played a mentor on Grey’s Anatomy last year, and has appeared in other television series’ making small guest stints on Boston Legal, The Closer, Kim Possible, and The King of Queens.
