Director Marc Webb has tweeted the first-ever photo of actor Colm Feore on the Amazing Spider-Man 2 set, but we still know next to nothing about who he’s playing.
Many Marvel directors like James Mangold ( The Wovlerine ), Bryan Singer ( X-Men: Days of Future Past ), and Webb have an awesome habit of tweeting set photos and other announcements about their superhero projects on their personal Twitter accounts. Webb tweets one every day (more or less) and his latest provides us with our first look at Colm Feore’s character.
Of course, we can’t tell you who Colm Feore is playing, because we have no idea. Early speculation had him playing Norman Osborn, which made a fair amount of sense in light of Dane DeHaan’s casting as Harry Osborn.
But then actor Chris Cooper was cast as Norman Osborn , and a giant “?” has been floating above Feore’s head ever since.
Unfortunately, Webb’s tweet doesn’t really tell us much about Feore’s character. It looks like an official production still. Feore stands with his back to us dressed in a suit, standing in front of a giant and official-looking seal.
That seal is probably the key to his character, but for the life of me, I don’t recognize it. I’m a hardcore comic junkie, too. It looks extremely familiar to me… I just can’t place it. Anyone is more than free to take a shot at it in the comments below the article.

Here’s the synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 :

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the 2014 sequel to last year’s successful reboot of Marvel’s Spider-Man film franchise. It stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field.
