Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods may be a hot item now that the couple has confirmed they they are indeed together, but the two weren’t always on such affectionate terms.
In fact, in 2010 Vonn found time to make fun at Tiger Woods’ admission that he had a sex addiction , one that led him to cheat on wife Elin Nordegren with multiple women. The comments were recorded by Time correspondent Sean Gregory on the same day Woods held a public apology for his 2009 sex scandal.
Vonn happened to be in the national spotlight at the time (the comments took place during the Winter Olympics). When a member of her entourage told her that Woods hugged a few friends after making his admission that he had a sex addiction, Vonn couldn’t resist a joke.
“They’re like, ‘Yeah, you’re awesome, you go have that sex.’ ”
As those in the room broke into laughter, Vonn made fun of Woods some more, saying that if she were asked to host Saturday Night Live she would do a skit where she walked up to a podium and admitted that she too had a sex addiction.
The comments were harmless at the time, and the fact that Vonn and Woods are now dating proves that there are no hard feelings.
This week the two finally confirmed that they’re a couple this week after months of speculation.
“I guess it wasn’t a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods,” Vonn posted to her Facebook page on Monday with the photo posted below. “Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over the past couple of months and it has made me very happy.”
But the 28-year-old skier said she wouldn’t go into any more detail.
“I don’t plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends,” Lindsey Vonn wrote about her relationship with Tiger Woods. “Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV”
