‘Battlefield 4’ Cover Art Allegedly Surfaces

Battlefield 4 apparently has some cover art on the web. While the newest title in the series is expected to be announced later this month there hasn’t been a whole lot of details released about the title. A picture has been floating around the web that is being purported to be the cover art for the new title, but for now, publisher EA isn’t confirming anything.

EA has said that they will be revealing more details about the fourth installment of the Battlefield series, but they wouldn’t say whether this box art is official or something a fan boy put together. Part of the mystery around the picture simply stems from people who have seen the image don’t know where it originated.

There has been quite a bit of talk that the background featured on the image is that of Shanghai. Rumors have been swirling for a while that the next game would involve China in some way, shape or form. Battlefield 4 is also being rumored to have weather conditions actually impact the game.

Plenty of industry insiders have been trying to crack the code on whether a game will be released on the next generation of consoles and there has been some chatter that EA and game developers DICE are timing the announcement in a way that will allow them to discuss the next generation.

One detail we do know is that this iteration of the series will also be set in the modern day. Luckily, we will all get quite a few more details when EA and DICE reveal more info later this month. For now this is just another title that is looking to wet gamers’ appetites with a minimum of releases.

Battlefield 4 is expected to hit store shelves in the first quarter of 2014, though it appears there is an outside chance the title could be here at the end of this year.
