Drunk Bully Knocked Out At SXSW 2013, Video Goes Viral

Video of a drunk bully getting knocked out at SXSW 2013 has gone viral in what appears to be a case of instant karma.

The video was uploaded on Friday by user FleeceJohnson69, who included this description: “Drunk idiot pick fights with random people and gets knocked out during SXSW 2013 Festival 6th Street Austin Texas.”

Shot sometime during the past few days, the video shows a bearded and apparently drunk young man trying to pick a fight with an equally drunk festival-goer. Though the other man clearly wants no part of it, the bully keeps antagonizing and eventually punches the man in the face.

It’s then that a gray-shirted bystander steps in, delivering a sucker punch that knocked out the SXSW bully and sent him sprawling on the pavement in downtown Austin, where the South by Southwest festival takes place.

It appears as if the young man who knocked out the SXSW bully planned to intervene all along. At the :10 mark of the video, while the drunk bully is antagonizing the man, he’s seen in the background asking to make sure his friend will have his back if he steps in.

Most of the attention on SXSW 2013 has been focused on the slate of films and performers, as well as Dave Grohl’s keynote address. In it, Grohl talked about his rise to superstardom with Nirvana after the 1991 release of Nevermind as well as his own beginnings in music.

But on Friday, much of the attention turned to the bully’s knockout on the streets of Austin. The video was posted to Reddit, where more than 3,000 users gave upvotes within the first few hours.

As if the night at SXSW 2013 didn’t go badly enough for the bully, once medics helped him to his feet he was handcuffed and put into a police cruiser.
