Woman Offers VHS Porn Tapes To Neighbors, Gets Arrested [Video]
An attempt to sell VHS porn tapes to neighbors landed a South Carolina woman in jail last week.
Authorities arrested Jeanette Adele Ellis last Tuesday after she was discovered attempting to sell several pornographic VHS tapes to the residents of her Gaffney, South Carolina neighborhood. She now faces charges for soliciting the material without the proper permit.
Ellis claimed to police that she stumbled across the VHS porn tapes discarded in a box along her street.
Suffering from financial difficulties, the woman allegedly decided she would try to obtain a little fast cash by selling the tapes door-to-door.
The 54-year-old reportedly admits to watching a few of the VHS porn tapes to ensure they were still in working condition before trying to sell them to her neighbors.
She decided on an asking price of $5.00 per videotape and began knocking on doors alongside Limestone Street and West Smith Street near West Floyd Baker Boulevard.
A local resident refused to answer her door when Ellis approached, instead placing a concerned call to local authorities.
Responding to the neighbor’s complaint, police officers reportedly caught Ellis in the act of soliciting a dozen VHS porn tapes.
She was taken into custody at Cherokee County Detention Center and charged with soliciting sales without a permit, which Ellis reportedly admitted that she did not possess.

South Carolina authorities have not revealed the titles or exact content of the pornographic material found in Ellis’ possession. However, police reportedly confiscated the 12 videotapes as evidence in the case.
