Limbaugh Blasts Michelle Obama’s Oscars Appearance [Audio]

Rush Limbaugh was watching the 85th Annual Academy Awards last night, and just like everyone else, the conservative radio host was surprised when First Lady Michelle Obama appeared to introduce the Best Picture award.

Limbaugh panned the White House cameo appearance, and shared his perspective on why the FLOTUS appeared at Hollywood’s biggest awards ceremony in the first place.

Limbaugh reasoned that the Oscars “had to throw her a crumb.” The reason for the crumb, deadpanned Limbaugh, is that the “campaign ad” Zero Dark Thirty didn’t win, nor did “his semi-autobiography” Lincoln, which is “about Obama, everybody knows that.”

Limbaugh also noted the strangely creepy nature of Michelle Obama’s cameo. Since she appeared via telecast on a huge screen, the radio host called her the “dear leader” of a “totalitarian state,” and compared the cameo to Apple’s famous 1984 commercial.

He also mentioned that some saw the cameo as “the opening salvo” of her own presidential bid, but Limbaugh doesn’t think that’s the case.

Instead, “A private, behind-the-scenes battle between Harvey Weinstein and Steven Spielberg,” is Limbaugh’s opinion on the origins of the cameo. Weinstein simply “wanted to show everybody that he’s bigger and more powerful than Spielberg,” after Spielberg convinced Bill Clinton to appear at the Golden Globes.

Overall, Limbaugh believes that Obama’s appearance “was out of place,” and “unneeded,” he concluded by wondering whether or not the Obamas will ever wear out their welcome.
