Woman Gets Hand Stuck In Glove Box, Calls Fire Department For Help

Stockport, England – A woman who got her hand stuck inside her car’s glove box was forced to call the local fire department for assistance.

The 49-year-old woman said she was attempting to get something out of the compartment when her hand became stuck. Unable to free herself from the predicament, she decided to place a call to local authorities for assistance.

According to Digital Spy, the fire department arrived on the scene around 8:30 pm Sunday evening. Firefighters who responded to the call found the woman inside her vehicle.

The woman explained to authorities that her hand became trapped in the glove box while trying to retrieve something from inside.

The Mirror reports that firefighters were able to extract the woman’s hand from the compartment by simply removing her watch. Although she suffered pain, bruising, and soreness as a result of the incident, it would appear she escaped relatively unharmed.

Firefighters said that a man had previously attempted to help the woman with her problem. When he was unable to free her hand from the glove box, the pair decided to phone for help.

Crew manager Stuart Hall explained:

“She wasn’t able to move her hand – either to push it in or pull it out. As soon as the watch came off it was fine, they were a little embarrassed as we were a last resort. But if someone is stuck they are stuck, they can’t stay there all night. We don’t train for something exactly like this but we will always be able get get people free somehow.”

Firefighters are frequently called out to rescue people from a wide variety of unusual situations. The Inquisitr previously reported that authorities in Portland, Oregon came to the rescue of a woman who somehow found herself wedged between two buildings.
