The Game of Thrones season 3 trailer has debuted online, and it’s everything you hoped it would be.
We reported yesterday that the Game of Thrones season 3 trailer was to debut last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and then immediately become available on the Game of Thrones YouTube channel for our enjoyment.
Just in case your Game of Thrones fandom has gone into hibernation, the season 3 trailer is exactly what you need to thaw yourself out. Almost every single character is touched on after being left to uncertain fates in the season 2 finale.
A few things that stood out to me: Robb seeing the devastation his war with the Lannisters has caused thus far, Jaime Lannister wandering around with a beard, Daenerys finally getting her army, and our first truly decent look at Ciarán Hinds as Mance Rayder, who declares his intention to “light the biggest fire the north has ever seen.”
Oh, and dragons .
Season three is probably one of the more anticipated seasons for fans of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels. It is said to adapt approximately the first half of the third novel in the series, titled A Storm of Swords , which contains some of the most violent and shocking turns the book series has taken thus far.
The season three premiere date is March 31, 2013.
