John Stamos To Star In NBC Pilot ‘I Am Victor’

John Stamos is in final negotiations to star in the NBC pilot I Am Victor.

I Am Victor centers on Victor Port (Stamos), a high-powered and sought-after L.A. divorce attorney who often says what other people are thinking but are afraid to say. Port employs a variety of tactics, including extortion and manipulation, to stack the deck in his clients’ favor. The series is based on bestselling Norwegian author Jo Nesbo’s upcoming novel of the same name.

NBC gave I Am Victor, which is described as “House as a divorce attorney,” a pilot order last month. The comparison makes sense, as the series comes from former House executive producer Katie Jacobs. Jacobs also acted as director on the medical drama from 2007 to 2009. The West Wing and Studio 60‘s Mark Goffman will write the script and executive produce the pilot with Jacobs, Daniel Rappaport, Meghan Lyvers, and Nicolas Salomonsson.

Stamos is currently recurring on another NBC show, The New Normal. So far, he has had two appearances as Brice, Jane’s (Ellen Barker) co-worker. He also previously appeared on Glee as Carl Howell, a dentist who ends up dating — and eventually marrying — McKinley High guidance counselor, Emma (Jayma Mays). Carl ends up filing for annulment from Emma after she admits that she is still attracted to Will (Matthew Morrison).

In addition to Glee and The New Normal, Stamos has appeared on Law & Order: SVU and Two and a Half Men in recent years.

Currently, there is no premiere date for I Am Victor.
