Will Smith Records A Track With Kanye West In Brazil

Will Smith and Kanye West have reportedly recorded a new track together, after they were both caught visiting a studio in Rio de Janeiro this week.

The two rappers were in the Brazilian city for Rio carnival, but then headed to a local studio owned by DJ Batutinha, where they recorded a Latin-inspired track.

Batutinha stated, “Kanye was keen to get to learn more about the funk in Rio and a DJ friend of mine referred him to me. Will and him went to the studio to get to know the sound of the funk better.”

The DJ added, “They thought we could all work out something together and launch this project.” Batutinha then also added that the duo plan to finish the song in the US.

West has been one of the most iconic hip hop artists of the last decade, ever since the release of his debut album, The College Dropout in 2004, which was followed by Late Registration, Graduation, 808s & Heartbreak, and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. West’s girlfriend, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, is also currently expecting their first child.

Smith started his career as the MC of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, and the pair even won the first Grammy award in the Rap category in 1988. He has since become one of the most consistent leading actors in Hollywood. He will next appear in After Earth, which is set to be released on June 7.
