Dave Matthews Buys New Malibu Mansion

Dave Matthews’ new Malibu home comes with a private beach and a nearly $7 million price tag.

The estate is certainly not out of Matthews’ price range. The Dave Matthews Band spent a decade, between 2000 and 2010, reaching ticket sales and profits that exceeded every other musical act in North America.

Recently the successful musician, who fronts the Dave Matthews Band, added a European-style country mansion to his growing list of real estate. Matthews paid an impressive $6,575,00 for the home and the prime Malibu land that it occupies.

According to Trulia, the house, which measures in at roughly 7,000 square feet, rests on 1.78 acres of rare flat land in the desirable, and securely gated, Point Dume area of Malibu. The recently renovated six bedroom home comes complete with its own spa, swimming pool, and deeded access to the private Little Dume Beach, which graces the nearby coastline.

The property surrounding Dave Matthews’ new Malibu estate even includes its very own apple orchard. Additionally, the purchase included the plans and permits to construct a 900 square foot guest house.

An article by Curbed writes that the property joins several other pieces of real estate owned by the singer. Matthews also owns 1,000 acres of farmland and a winery in Virginia; a bungalow in Seattle, Washington; and a recording studio set on 140 acres of land.

According to the Daily Mail, the singer married his longtime partner Jennifer Ashley Harper in 2000. The couple are parents to a young son and twin daughters.
