John Mayer: Dating Katy Perry Feels ‘Human,’ Not Like A ‘Celebrity Relationship’ [Video]

Thanks to Katy Perry, maybe John Mayer really is a changed man.

The notorious lothario has reportedly been “going steady” with Perry for some time, and doesn’t seem to mind being tied down with the pop star. reports E! News. Though he has dated a smattering of women in the past, and usually not for very long, he might be keen on keeping Perry around (and not just because of her knockout Grammys look last night).

“For the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I’m in a celebrity relationship,” Mayer said on CBS Sunday Morning. “I really don’t. I’m not in a high-profile…I know it’s high profile. It’s hard to explain.”

Mayer went on: “For me, it feels like something that’s very human,” he explained.

The 35-year-old musician extraordinaire recently admitted that he was “just a jerk” to some ex-girlfriends, but apparently he does want to settle down someday and get married. “Of course!” he replied emphatically to the question of nuptials.

“I mean, I’m still the kid from Connecticut,” he said. “That’s what you do.”

Whether or not Mayer settles down with Katy Perry remains to be seen, but we’re guessing she’s not too keen on marrying again anytime soon. She is recently divorced from comedian Russell Brand.
