Car Chase Ends In Fireball [Video]

A high-speed car chased ended in a giant fireball on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

According to the NY Post, police started chasing a car down the highway after they suspected that the driver was drunk.

But instead of pulling over when noticing that the cops were following him, the driver decided to speed up and started weaving in and out of cars through the Boyle Heights neighborhood on the East side of Los Angeles.

A KTLA helicopter was able to capture the car chase on camera.

According to the news station, the red mustang was traveling in excess of 100 mph. Police cars stayed safely behind the vehicle in “surveillance mode” to make sure that they didn’t cause the driver to do anything erratic. The cautious approach, however, didn’t pay off.

The car continued to weave in and out of cars and eventually lost control and slammed into a guardrail. After the collision, the car ignited into a giant fireball before coming to rest in the middle of the highway.

Police were quick on the scene and were able to pull the driver to safety. The driver was rushed to the hospital. His condition is not known at this time.
