Bruce Willis is set to destroy a lot of stuff in 2013. Judging from the trailer for the upcoming action flick Red 2 , the actor is responsible for more than his fair share of explosions.
Director Robert Schwentke’s Red featured Bruce Willis as a retired CIA agent who finds himself on a government hit list. With the help of his former associates, he unravels a conspiracy to assassinate former employees thought to be a threat to national security.
Director Dean Parisot’s follow-up finds Willis’ character on yet another hit list. This time he’s being hunted by a number of well-armed assassins anxious to claim the bounty on his head.
The official synopsis for the film reads as follows:
“In ‘Red 2,’ the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.”
In addition to Willis, the sequel also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker, John Malkovich, and David Thewlis.
Before he blows up stuff for Dean Parisot, Bruce Willis will reprise his role as John McClane once again in John Moore’s A Good Day to Die Hard . The film, which takes the storied action hero to Russia, opens in theaters on February 14.
