X Factor’s Emblem 3 Ink Deal With Columbia

Do we have another case of an X Factor ex contestant besting the winner? We may have! Although it’s too early to tell if winner Tate Stevens will sink or swim (but we’re assuming he’ll swim since it’s Country music and not R&B) it’s hard to deny Emblem 3 their dues. The popular boy group trio of Wesley Stromberg, Keaton Stromberg, and Drew Chadwick proved themselves to be a fan favorite early on in the season. When they were eliminated from the show, it wasn’t that much of a surprise as they did have a nice run on X Factor, but buzz about the group never died regardless.

Leave it in the hands of mentor Simon Cowell to get things done. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the boys have officially found their label, and signed with Syco/Columbia, inking their first deal out of X Factor. It didn’t take long, and it comes to know surprise how fast paced this was, given Cowell’s excitement over the boys from the very beginning. In December, Cowell told reporters that he wasn’t going to let the boys get out of his grasp, “I think there’s a pretty good chance. I’m not going to let anyone else get them.”

Now that Emblem 3 have signed, it’s time to make some music. Currently the guys are in the studio working on their debut album with producer Savan Kotecha, who in the past has produced acts such as One Direction, Maroon 5, and Usher. Kotecha told the Hollywood Reporter, “I’m looking forward to helping them fulfill their creative vision and working with the amazing Syco and Columbia team who, in my opinion, are the best in the business.”

As for Wesley, Keaton, and Drew the boys seem over the moon about their new deal, and really, can we blame them? They already have collaborations with Good Charlotte’s Benji and Joel Madden, who seem to be right up their alley for the anti-boyband. Group member Wesley added about the excitement, “With our new teammates at Columbia and Syco and along with Savan, I hope we can not only produce some empowering tunes, but also impact other people in a positive way and maybe help brighten things up a bit. Music is all we’ve ever wanted to do — and this is what we love to do.”

Earlier in the day Emblem 3 tweeted via their official twitter about the news:
