Al Roker ‘Pooped His Pants’ At The White House


Today weatherman Al Roker revealed during a recent interview that he may have had a bit of an accident while visiting the White House a while back.

Roker underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2002, an experience that is chronicled at-length in his new memoir Never Goin’ Back: My Weight Loss Journey. According to People, the surgery helped him shed nearly 100 pounds over the years. However, the procedure came with its own unique side effects.

Shortly after the surgery, Al Roker said he paid a visit to the White House. It was then that the veteran weatherman reportedly “pooped his pants.”

He explained to Dateline:

“When you have a bypass and your bowels [have] been reconstructed, you think you’re pretty safe. And I probably went off and ate something I wasn’t supposed to. And as I’m walking to the press room. I gotta pass a little gas here. I’m walking by myself. Who’s gonna know? Only a little something extra came out. I pooped my pants. Not horribly, but enough that I knew.”

Correspondent Nancy Snyderman was quick to point out that such accidents are a common side effect to gastric bypass surgery.

In the video posted to TMZ, Al Roker said that he panicked, found the nearest restroom, and quickly ditched his soiled underwear. For the rest of his visit to the White House, the weatherman said he went “commando.”

Roker didn’t walk away from the incident without a valuable lesson. After pooping his pants, Roker said he remains very careful about what he can and cannot eat.
