’30 Rock’ Finale: Nancy Pelosi To Make Cameo Appearance

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will be making a cameo appearance in the 30 Rock series finale.

The comedy, which will be ending after seven seasons on January 31, will have an hourlong finale as opposed to its usual half-hour episode.

According to the Washington Post, Pelosi’s office confirmed that she would be appearing in the finale but did not say whether she would appear as herself.

“I would do almost anything Tina Fey asks me to do,” Pelosi was quoted as saying. “I’m flattered that they asked me to make a cameo in the series finale. I had a lot of fun.”

Pelosi joins several other politicians who have appeared on 30 Rock over the years. Former Vice President Al Gore, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice have all appeared on the show. Gore has appeared on the series as himself twice, and Rice appeared as Jack Donaghy’s (Alec Baldwin) former lover.

According to the AV Club, Ice-T will also be guest starring in the series finale.

The abbreviated seventh and final season of 30 Rock premiered on October 4, 2012. Baldwin approached NBC and offered to take a pay cut to have the show renewed for a full seventh and eighth season. The network, however, didn’t take Baldwin up on his offer.

Baldwin broke the news on Twitter, writing, “I offered NBC to cut my pay 20 percent in order to have a full 7th and 8th seasons of 30 Rock. I realize times have changed.”

While Pelosi has appeared on several talk shows and served as a guest judge on Top Chef, this will be her first appearance on a scripted TV show.
