Manchester, England – Twin brothers were reportedly arrested on New Year’s Eve after getting into a scuffle over the same girlfriend.

Authorities stated that the fight broke out between the siblings after they couldn’t decide who’s turn it was to have sex with their shared lover. According to the Hartford Courant, the argument soon escalated into violence.

The woman, who is dating both Aric Ryan Hale and Sean Peter Hale, reportedly switches back and forth between the twin brothers depending on who she wants to sleep with on any given day. This arrangement turned problematic when the twin brothers butted heads on New Year’s Eve.

The Daily Mail reports that all three were at a hotel on December 31 when the altercation began. Sean allegedly asked Aric to leave the room so he could spend some “alone time” with their 27-year-old girlfriend. When he refused to oblige, the brothers came to blows.

Authorities said that the hotel room the three were staying in was trashed as a result of their confrontation. The twin brothers were later arrested by police at their home in Ellington.

Sean Hale is being charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of third-degree criminal mischief, while his brother Aric is facing two counts each of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct and one count of third-degree criminal mischief.

Although the situation is certainly unique, this certainly wasn’t the only crime to take place on New Year’s Eve. In addition to a number of fights and scuffles around the world, Auto World News explains that over 1,100 cars were torched in France on December 31.

The twin brothers who were arrested on New Year’s Even for fighting over the same girl are presently due back in Manchester Superior Court on February 7. Both men were released after posting bail of $10,000 a piece.
