Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are gearing up for their Golden Globes 2013 hosting gig, and accordingly another mock promotion clip has arrived online.
Like the last clip that was released in December, it’s pretty funny. Fey and Poehler are experts at playing is straight while delivering hilarious lines, and this latest is no exception.
Coming in at just a little over 2 minutes, the ladies begin by talking about what “supposedly” made them want to host the Golden Globes.
A deadpan Fey says she’s heard that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association-run awards were “a very kind of sloppy, loud party and that seemed like our kind of thing.”
A deliberately vacant stare al la Real Housewives from both comediennes follows this revelation before Poehler says:
“Well the big thing is that televison and film get to be together, so the beautiful people of film get to rub shoulders with the horrible, disgusting people of television and that’s always nice to see. Yes.”
Moments later, Fey chimes in with the novel idea that she should “win Best Picture.” Not for actually being in a film but because “it would be unprecedented.”
More tongue-in-cheek banter about Angelina Jolie and Avatar follows, and then the taster for Fey and Poelher’s highly anticipated hosting is over.
Known mostly for their sublime work on NBC‘s Saturday Night Live, Fey will join Poehler — also a respected comic, writer, and producer — on January 13 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony.
The show will screen live that Sunday at 8pm ET/5pm PT on NBC. A full list of nominees can be seen here.
