WWE Rumors: Roman Reigns’ Return Possibly Postponed After Health Scare

The entire main event for the WWE Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view event was thrown into chaos thanks to a rash of illness that spread through the WWE locker room. Bo Dallas was sent home with a rumored case of viral meningitis. His brother Bray Wyatt also went home with the rumored illness as well. However, the biggest loss was that of Roman Reigns.

The WWE And The Loss Of Roman Reigns

The huge selling point for the WWE Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view event was the reunion of The Shield for the first time in years. While Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose had reunited and won the WWE tag team titles, bringing Roman Reigns back in completed the much-anticipated reunion for WWE fans.

However, Roman Reigns falling to illness, whether it was vital meningitis or the mumps as other sources reported, that reunion never happened at the event. Instead, the WWE rushed to another hugely anticipated event — the return of Kurt Angle to in-ring competition.

Roman Reigns has yet to return to the WWE since his illness, and there are a lot of rumors as to when he is supposed to come back. Some thought he would return to WWE Monday Night Raw last week, but it didn’t happen. Other rumors were that he would come back at Survivor Series, but PWInsider reports that is not set in stone either.

What Is The Holdup On Roman Reigns WWE Return?

While the WWE has considered bringing back Roman Reigns as part of Team Raw in the huge traditional Survivor Series match between Raw and SmackDown Live, it is not something that they have completely decided on yet.

Cageside Seats reports that the Monday Night Raw team for Survivor Series is rumored to include Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, and Samoa Joe. However, the only people the WWE has officially announced are Kurt Angle and Braun Strowman.

There are going to be more announcements soon, possibly with one or two more names revealed tonight on Monday Night Raw. This is because SmackDown Live already announced Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Bobby Roode. Their final member will almost definitely be AJ Styles.

However, when it comes to Roman Reigns, PWInsider reported that he is not hospitalized due to his illness, but there are concerns he is not in “proper ring shape” for a return to the road for the WWE. There is a backup plan for Team Raw, and that is Jason Jordan, but losing Roman Reigns could be a huge blow for the WWE and especially Monday Night Raw since Survivor Series is the company’s last co-branded pay-per-view of the year.
