Blake Shelton Talks About Teaching Gwen Stefani’s Sons, Says He Wants Three Kids

Blake Shelton talked about his relationship with Gwen Stefani’s sons during a recent radio interview, and he revealed that they boys are obsessed with something about him that he doesn’t really like. He also said that he would love to have three kids of his own with Gwen.

Blake Shelton has been busy promoting his latest album, Texoma Shore, so he’s had quite a few conversations with radio show hosts over the last few days. He’s often asked about the inspiration for the songs on the record during these interviews, so the topic of his relationship with Gwen Stefani naturally comes up over and over again. While talking to the hosts of NASH FM’s Ty, Kelly & Chuck morning show on Monday, he even opened up about how he has bonded with Gwen’s three sons from her marriage to Gavin Rossdale.

According to Blake, Gwen’s boys — Kingston, 11; Zuma, 9; and Apollo, 3 — have learned a few new things since they started spending time with him. The boys often are often with him when he visits his property on the shore of Lake Texoma in Oklahoma, which is a place so near and dear to the country singer’s heart that he decided to name his new album after it. He says that Gwen Stefani’s sons spent “most of the summer” there, so he had plenty of time to teach them how to fish and build fires.

“Fire isn’t bad. You know, we can have a campfire,” Blake said of one of the lessons on country living that he shared with the boys.

Blake Shelton also shared his thoughts on Gwen Stefani’s sons dressing like him. As reported by Us Weekly, the youngsters have adopted his relaxed country style by wearing camouflage, cowboy boots, and plaid shirts. However, the man that the boys admire so much thinks that it might be time for him and their stylish mother to stage a style intervention.

“We’ve got to teach them there’s a higher standard they should hold themselves up to,” Shelton joked.

According to Blake Shelton, Stefani’s kids are also huge fans of his forearm tattoo, which he describes as “horrifying.” The ink is a set of deer tracks between two rows of barbed wire, and he says that Stefani will occasionally indulge her kids’ obsession with it by using a permanent marker to draw it on their arms. Earlier this year, she took to Twitter to show off her temporary knockoffs of Shelton’s arm art.

Keeping up with three energetic boys all summer long seemingly did not put a damper on Blake’s desire to have kids of his own someday. When the topic of tabloid rumors came up, he was asked how he feels about the nonstop speculation about his personal life. Shelton said that that he doesn’t mind most of the gossip concerning Stefani, and he even wishes that some of the fabricated stories about him and his girlfriend were true.

“The stuff with Gwen, that’s easy,” he said. “I wish we’d already had three kids. That would be awesome!”
