Who Are ‘Saturday Night Live’s’ Surprising Upcoming Hosts And Musical Guests?

Now in its 43rd season, Saturday Night Live has had somewhat of a rebirth with Alec Baldwin making regular appearances as Donald Trump and others capitalizing on the political climate. But the hosts and musical guests have also stepped up, and the rest of November should provide a great mix of cross-over hosts and musical guests that fans of Saturday Night Live will love. The Emmy Award-winning Saturday Night Live writers only unveil a few of the upcoming hosts at a time, but there are some great combinations for the rest of the month of November.

The new season saw the departure of Saturday Night Live cast members Sasheer Zamata, Vanessa Bayer, and Bobby Moynihan, who have all left to explore new projects. But with those departures, there are some new faces; comedians Heidi Gardner, Chris Redd, and Luke Null have all made appearances in Season 43 of Saturday Night Live.

Next weekend should be great, with comedian Tiffany Haddish from Girls Trip, Real Husbands of Hollywood, and The Carmichael Show as a first-time guest host, and Taylor Swift as the musical guest, who will perform songs from her new CD, Reputation. Swift has been a guest host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live before, so she knows the ropes and might be making an appearance in a sketch or two.

For the week of November 18, Saturday Night Live is mixing it up with two musicians, one in the guest host role and one in the musical host role. Chance the Rapper will be the Saturday Night Live guest host and Eminem will be the musical guest. The last time Chance the Rapper was on, he was the musical guest but appeared successfully in a few sketches.

Eminem drops his new album, Revival, on November 17, the day before his episode of Saturday Night Live airs, and it will be interesting to see if Eminem performs his anti-Trump rap as part of his two musical selections. This will be Eminem’s seventh appearance on Saturday Night Live.

But the majority of the attention for upcoming Saturday Night Live guest hosts is going to Tiffany Haddish, as she is the only SNL newbie in November. Right now, Tiffany Haddish can be seen everywhere from a PSA on hand washing to a media blitz for her new book.

Haddish’s book, The Last Black Unicorn, is a collection of autobiographical essays that might shed some light on her upcoming Saturday Night Live monologue. The essays are described as “extremely personal, sidesplitting, and unflinching.”
