’90 Day Fiance’ Season 5 Recap: Azan Brings Up Nicole’s Past Cheating, David & Annie Get Engaged In Thailand

Things got a little dramatic on last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance Season 5. As the couples’ K1 visa deadline draws near, shocking revelations and new discoveries were made. Read on for our full recap below!

Nicole & Azan

In Morocco, Nicole is enjoying her family time with Azan and her daughter May. As they’re touring around the city, they come to a mosque and Azan admits that he wants his future children to be Muslims like him. They discuss religion, but what really makes things intense is their next conversation.

Azan brings up Nicole’s past cheating incident over lunch the next day. Nicole is still guilty about the whole thing, even though she’s apologized for it over a hundred times already. She confesses that after her last trip to Morocco, she went out with a guy friend and took off her engagement ring.

Naturally, this upsets Azan and he comments that he wouldn’t have asked Nicole and her daughter to come back to his country had he known. In Azan’s family, no one has ever been cheated on so he’s worried how his relatives will think of him when they find out about Nicole’s secret. Despite not trusting her 100 percent, Azan gives Nicole another chance.

Josh & Aika

Josh makes a six-hour drive from Phoenix to Los Angeles airport to pick up Aika, his fiance from the Philippines. Upon seeing Josh’s car, Aika sarcastically comments why it’s not a Porsche.

Interestingly, Aika arrives with only one suitcase and a few carry-ons. Seeing that she left all her things in the Philippines, Josh takes his fiance out to go shopping for a whole new wardrobe. Josh’s friends doubt Aika’s intentions and think that their relationship is seriously wrong. However, Josh looks like a man in love.

Evelyn & David

Evelyn and David are still deep in their wedding preparations. David is upset that Evelyn’s family won’t host his friends and relatives coming from Spain. They argue about money, but Evelyn just won’t give up on her dream wedding.

Meanwhile, Evelyn throws her fiance a welcome party and invites all her friends. Mikayla, the one who is very vocal about her doubts on their relationship, comes and immediately antagonizes David. She blurts out her concerns in front of everyone, which makes David truly upset. He hits back and comments about how Mikayla is still single, which makes the poor girl cry.

“David was really aggressive and he made a comment about me being single and that really upset me,” Mikayla sobs in a confessional.

“I just want to make sure Evelyn is happy. And if that’s with David, that’s great. But I want them to instead of brushing me off, to really think about what I’m saying.”

Elizabeth & Andrei

Elizabeth goes to Ireland to meet up with Andrei to prepare him for his upcoming interview with U.S. immigration. Apparently, Andrei illegally overstayed when he first came to the states before meeting Elizabeth. This makes her worried about his chances of getting approved, but Andrei seems to shrug it off and starts making jokes.

Molly & Luis

Luis has been in the states for a few weeks now, and he’s starting to feel a little bored. Molly spends most of the day in her lingerie shop, so he’s usually left alone in the shop.

Molly takes Luis to her father’s farm to meet the family. The family affair gets awkward when Molly’s dad starts questioning Luis about his intentions.

In Thailand, it’s David and Annie’s engagement day. Annie’s entire village takes part in the celebrations, which include a lot of music and dancing. As tradition dictates, David hands out money to Annie’s family as well as her neighbors. Though he’s anxious about being broke, David is overwhelmed with genuine joy.

However, reality hits the newly engaged couple when David tells Annie that they’ll be staying at his friends’ house once they get to the U.S. The 48-year-old is cash-strapped, homeless, and jobless. Though this is not the American life Annie has dreamed of, she says that she believes in her fiance.

“When Annie and I get to America, we will be living with [my friends],” David says.

“I don’t have a car, I don’t have an apartment, I don’t have a house. I don’t even have a U.S. bank account at this point.”

They meet up with Chris and and Nikki, David’s friends and future roommates. Chris tells Annie that while she’s not allowed to work on the K1 visa, she has to earn her keep around the house. Things get a little awkward when David’s friend asks Annie to give him “Thai massages” by the pool.
