Jinger Duggar And Jeremy Vuolo Celebrate Anniversary, Texas Church Shooting Casts Dark Shadow Over Happy Day

Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday, but a tragedy that hit close to home for the couple cast a dark shadow over what should have been a joyful day for the Counting On stars.

Jinger and Jeremy marked a major relationship milestone on November 5. One year ago, they tied the knot in front of hundreds of family members and friends at a large church in Arkansas. Their wedding was filmed for Counting On, and they quickly became one of the most admired couples on the show. Fans of the Duggar family’s TLC series enjoy keeping up with the Laredo, Texas residents even when they aren’t on TV, so many of them were thrilled when Jinger shared a special anniversary message for Jeremy on her Instagram page. It included a romantic wedding picture and plenty of praise for her husband.

“It’s been 1 year since the day we said ‘I do’…it’s been the best year of my life! Jeremy, you have shown me such love that is too amazing for words,” Jinger wrote.

The Duggar daughter’s post also included a few references to her pastor husband’s faith.

“I love how you lead me in the Word and prayer.”

Around the same time Jinger Duggar’s Instagram post was published, Jeremy Vuolo was on social media. However, the first message he shared with his fans on Sunday evening was not a declaration of love for his wife; it was a tweet about the recent Texas church shooting. On the same day Jinger and Jeremy celebrated one year of marriage, a gunman opened fire on the congregation of a small Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. The Chicago Tribune reported that at least 26 people were killed in what is now Texas’ deadliest mass shooting.

Jeremy Vuolo is a pastor at a small church in Texas, so it’s likely that the shooting in Sutherland Springs has affected him deeply. However, he didn’t let the tragedy stop him from celebrating his love for Jinger. A few hours after he tweeted about the Texas church shooting, he took to Instagram to gush about the Duggar daughter who became his wife one year ago. He called Jinger the woman of his dreams, and he also described her as “staggeringly beautiful” and “sincerely Christlike.”

As reported by the Dallas Morning News, many gun control advocates are frustrated by responses to mass shootings like the one Jeremy shared with his Twitter followers. They believe that the social media posts sending out “thoughts and prayers” are an easy out for those who don’t want to take any meaningful steps to reduce gun violence.

Jeremy Vuolo and Jinger Duggar have not shared their thoughts on gun control, but it’s clear that they’re not completely opposed to firearms. As reported by In Touch Weekly, the couple visited a gun range a few months ago, and Jeremy posed for the photo below.
