Duggar Family Feud: Extended Family Reportedly Shunning Derick Dillard After He Broke Strict Family Rules

A Duggar family feud is reportedly heating up, with reports that the family is now shunning Derick Dillard after he violated their strict rules on conduct.

The husband of sister Jill Duggar has reportedly been on the outs for several weeks, Radar Online noted, with Dillard seated on the other side of the church away from the rest of the family at the wedding of Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell in September. Other fans have noted that Derick and Jill are notably absent from the family’s Facebook page, which keeps up with all of the children’s lives.

Though there have been differing reports on what may be causing the feud, the report noted that it likely stems from Dillards failing to follow the family’s very strict rules, namely the one against listening to modern music. As the report noted, Derick Dillard posted a video showing a large group of people dancing to music.

“As fans know, dancing is against the family’s strict rules,” the report noted. “His sister-in-law Jessa once explained that modern day music is ‘promoting sex, drugs all that type of stuff.’ ”

If true, the Derick Dillard may not be the only one breaking away from the strict rules of parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar. As Radar Online had previously reported, Jinger Duggar and husband Jeremy Vuolo have reportedly decided to go against the family’s belief, breaking away from their strict Independent Baptist views.

“They are their own people,” a source told the celebrity news outlet. “They aren’t just clones. They have their own set of beliefs.”

Jinger had been something of a rebel even before she and Jeremy tied the knot. While parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar forbid their children from having most forms of contact during courtship — only side hugs were permitted — Jinger and Jeremy shared a full hug when he proposed during an episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On.The couple has also taken a bit longer to start a family than Jinger’s other married siblings. They are coming up on their first wedding anniversary, a time when both Jill and Jessa Duggar were already pregnant with their first children, but Jinger has yet to announce a pregnancy.

The source said that the Duggar parents have come to accept that Jinger and Jeremy are leading their own lives, and the couple still appears to be close to the Duggar parents and other family members.

There are also differing reports on whether the Duggar family really is in a feud. Another source told Radar Online that there is “not animosity of that nature” between family members and that Derick Dillard is still in the good graces of his in-laws.
