Kanye West sported what many websites are calling a “Yeti mask” during a recent concert in Atlantic City. The rapper also donned a mask made out of diamonds during the show.
According to Neon Limelight, the first night of Kanye West’s three-night stay at the Revel Resort in Atlantic City included a number of interesting costume changes.
Before working his way through the tunes “Say You Will” and “Heartless,” West took the stage wearing what many have described as a Yeti mask. He reportedly kept the feathery mask on during both songs, video of which has been included below.
However, that wasn’t the only surprise the rapper had in store for those who turned out for Friday’s performance. The Huffington Post reports West also took the stage sporting a Maison Martin Margiela mask. Covered completely in crystals, the piece entirely obscured the artist’s face as he performed the remix to Rihanna’s “Diamonds.”
Kanye West’s recent performance in Atlantic City has been thoroughly documented by the folks at Team Kanye Daily. The website features an exhaustive collection of photographs from the show, many of which feature the Yeti mask in all its glory.
Reactions to West’s costumes have been amusing, with comments ranging from adoration to bafflement. Regardless of what you think about the rapper’s antics, it certainly gets people talking.
“Kanye West is so reckless going on stage with a Maison Martin Margiela mask,” one user wrote on Twitter.
“Kanye West wearing a couture Maison Martin Margiela crystal mask last night? God bless him,” another tweeted.
While West’s style may work on stage, not everyone feels the rapper’s sense of fashion translates into items people would buy. According to Business Insider, the rapper’s line has received less than stellar reviews from a number of top critics.
You can watch West rocking the so-called Yeti mask below. The audio is terrible, but the video gives you a pretty good look at the item in question.
