Meghan Markle Has Made This Significant Fashion Change To Impress Queen Elizabeth

Meghan Markle is scoring brownie points with Queen Elizabeth II. Ever since she started dating Prince Harry, the Suits star has taken a more modest approach to her fashion. Markle is known for her figure-hugging apparel, and the change in wardrobe is believed to be an attempt to impress the Queen.

According to Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth has strict policies against showing too much skin in public. The monarch reportedly has zero tolerance for showing knees and is not a fan of displaying shoulders. Ever since she went public with her royal romance, Markle has followed these two rules pretty closely. This, of course, isn’t the first time a member of the royal family has undergone a makeover.

Kate Middleton experienced a small fashion makeover in 2014. While touring Canada with Prince William and their little ones, Middleton donned outfits with lower hemlines than she typically wears. The decision was reportedly at the behest of Queen Elizabeth, who wanted her to look more regal in public.

It seems like Meghan Markle is following a similar guideline. According to Cosmopolitan, the actress dressed very modestly during her first public appearance with Harry at the Invictus Games this year. All of her dresses fell well below the knee line and she wore coats to cover up her exposed shoulders on more than one occasion.

It is possible that Markle is simply enjoying a more relaxed wardrobe free of mini-skirts and short shorts, but it seems more likely that she’s following the Queen’s strict orders. Whether or not this trend continues is yet to be seen.

Markle has been dating Harry for the better part of a year now. With their romance heating up, inside source claim that they are preparing for an engagement announcement in the near future. If Harry does pop the big question, there is a chance we could witness a royal wedding as early as next year.

The wedding rumors, unfortunately, have not been confirmed. Harry is currently in Chicago attending the Obama Foundation Summit and recently met up with former first lady, Michelle Obama. While in the Windy City, Harry also indulged in deep dish pizza, which he revealed he does not eat very often.

He has not commented on Meghan Markle’s fashion changes.
